Candidate Statement – Art Jenkins

Leadership that Listens 
As ARC College President, I deliver results continuously through empowerment, advocacy, and collaboration.

On the LRCFT Salary Committee, I helped secure a 6% salary improvement for full-time and part-time faculty.

By relaunching the Location Safety Committee, I strengthened partnerships between LRCFT and administration to enhance health, safety, and working conditions.

I played a key role in expanding the CalSTRS Reduced Workload Program from 5 to 10 years. I began my career part-time and now serve full-time, understanding the realities our faculty navigate daily. I am a dedicated, trusted champion for fair compensation, strong representation, and workplace well-being.

Platform:

· Maximize Transparency in negotiations and union actions

· Increase Contract and Faculty Rights workshops

· Build broad coalitions and sub-committees with ARC faculty to address diverse faculty issues

· Establish union steward structure to streamline dispute resolution, answer contract questions, and inform faculty of union efforts

· Establish regular and diverse channels for communicating faculty interests and concerns (meetings, phone trees, polls, discord servers, social media, etc)

· Maximize visibility and availability of union representatives
