One Faculty, One Future

Something exciting is happening throughout California’s community colleges.

People are talking about making real change to the two-tier system that separates part-time faculty from full-time faculty, sometimes pitting us against each other and weakening our collective voice, along with the quality of our professional lives.

Several statewide faculty organizations are in the process of formulating visions and plans to make our colleges more equitable for students and for faculty. Our own state union affiliate, the CFT, released a One Faculty Vision Statement outlining the goals of its One Faculty Task Force, which lays the foundation for statewide and local campaigns to make lasting change.

What changes do we want to see in Los Rios?
