If you are part-time faculty in Los Rios, you are probably aware that, during periods when you do not have an assignment, you have a right to apply for unemployment benefits through the California Employment Development Department (EDD).
Introducing the LRCFT Executive Director
My name is Michael Henderson, and I’m the Executive Director of LRCFT. I’ve held this position for almost two years now, and I have met many Los Rios faculty during that time, but I wanted to take this opportunity, presented by the welcome resurrection of the Union News, to introduce myself to all faculty in our bargaining unit.
LRCFT Activities 2024
The LRCFT has been busy this year in a variety of ways to help faculty.
LRCFT board members continue to hold workshops on vital issues such as faculty health care insurance and faculty participation in the Prison and Reentry Education Program (PREP). The campus union teams regularly convene social events and hold office hours to answer faculty questions.

This is only my second semester as SCC Campus President. I have learned a lot, and I still have a lot more to learn. As your LRCFT Campus President at SCC, I receive 0.40 FTE (40% of my job) to represent you in meetings with administrators, to answer your questions, and to generally enforce our contract.
