Online-to-On-Ground Conversion Payment and Proposed Salary Schedule Ratification Vote

Dear Colleagues,

The Executive Board of the LRCFT (your faculty union) is excited to share two important updates: 1) an online to on-ground conversion payment and 2) the results of our recent work to improve the faculty salary schedules (*).

Online-to-On-Ground Conversion Payment

  • The Union and District have negotiated an online-to-on-ground conversion payment.  Pending LRCCD board approval on December 15th, faculty will receive a 4% one-time payment for online to on-ground conversion.

Salary Schedule Ratification Vote

After thoroughly analyzing and assessing multiple options, the LRCFT reached a tentative agreement with the District to restructure our salary schedules to increase pay at all steps in all classes for all faculty. The Executive Board is asking all LRCFT members in good standing (**) to ratify these changes, including:

  • increasing the dollar amount on every class and step placement of all schedules
  • including 10 more steps on each salary schedule
  • repositioning full-time faculty ‘stuck’ at steps 15 or 20 for more than 1 year to the step they would occupy if we had 25 steps
  • For full-time faculty, this means your step on the new salary schedule is your initial step placement when you were hired full-time, plus your years of service since then, up to step 25.
    • replacing percentage-based step increases with fixed dollar amount increases

The LRCFT Executive Board believes these changes to the salary schedule are important because it eliminates the disparity in how individuals earn raises across the classes and realigns our schedule structure with structures commonly used across the California Community College System.

Ballots will be mailed on Friday, November 12 via US postal service to your home address and must be received by the LRCFT office no later than November 29. (If you aren’t sure LRCFT has your current mailing address, please click here: to update that information no later than Friday, November 12th).

If approved by a simple majority of votes cast by LRCFT members, the LRCCD Board of Trustees will vote on the proposal during their December 15 meeting.

Download this PDF document that includes the proposed salary schedules and a comprehensive explanation of the proposed new schedule changes. View the current (2021-2022) interim schedules here https://www.lrcft.org/what-we-do/salary-schedule/

In preparation for the ratification vote by LRCFT members in good standing, the LRCFT will host 3 forums to explain the proposed new schedules, and answer questions. We will also record in closed caption one of the sessions and distribute the link for those unable to attend the live forums. Forum dates are forthcoming.

We look forward to being in conversation with all of you regarding these exciting new proposed changes.

    In solidarity,

    The LRCFT Executive Board

    Notes:

    * “Faculty salary schedules” currently consist of four distinct schedules: A-164 for full-time classroom faculty, A-164 for full-time librarians, A-174 for full-time coordinators, counselors, and nurses, and B for part-time/adjunct faculty and full-time overload assignments.
